Taylor Lee is a poem I wrote dedicated to my beautiful daughter who I never got to hold.
I may have carried you a short time,
But you taught more than anyone.
You taught me love.
A mother’s love.
You gave me a glimpse
Of how my mom loves me.
You taught me pain.
A good pain & hurt.
A pain that never
Goes away.
It’s a good pain
Because I know where you are,
Resting in the arms of Christ –
Waiting for mom & dad.
Eight years.
Every thought is still of you.
Every breath is for you.
Every heartbeat I hear of daddy is yours.
Until that day my sweet angel,
Hold on to Jesus.
We are holding on too,
Till we can hold you my angel.
